Is Sanskrit difficult to learn ?

Sanskrit is not a language meant for speaking or learning. It’s at the most,an imperfect code with confusing words and meanings.Panini ,the Sanskrit grammarian himself does not call it as ‘refined language’ but as’REFINED SCRIPT’only.Scripts are not meant to be spoken but written only.

For example,if you take any word in English,it will CONVEY THE SAME MEANING TO EVERY ONE HEARING IT ,subject to the context.

father | Definition of father in English by Oxford Dictionaries

Father:

A man in relation to his child or children.

‘how like your father you are’

‘the art collection was bequeathed to him by his adoptive father’

(More follows)

But Sanskrit is not like that. Now take for example ,the Sanskrit word pitaram .

It means:

Sanskrit Dictionary

38 different meanings for the same word !

So,if you say Pitaram what do you convey actually? Phonetic difficulties add to your woes with demanding pronunciations for each word!

So,Yes,it’s a very very difficult code to learn indeed! It’s not a natural language
